    Ravishing Ruby!!!

Be still my heart!!! What an adorable, most precious Mini Doxie senior girl you are, Ruby; truly a gem of a girl! The sight of your sweet, little face; poring over your bevy of precious pics; reading your happy homecoming rescue story has my heart melted into a pool of pure mush! Seriously, those pics of you with your doggie brothers and sisters, your piggie pal, are over the moon heart-melting! What a big, happy, furry family indeed!

And what a wonderful life you and all of your friends have been blessed with: a big yard to play in with your doggie sibs, bottomless bowls of yummy, healthy food to savor, comfy beds (in every room!!!) to nap in and best of all, all the love your heart can hold!

Then I went in the house and found the food and water dishes. Mom thinks none of us should ever worry about being hungry, so the dishes are always full. There are plenty of dog beds in most of the rooms. Then I discovered the parakeets and guinea pig. Something smaller than me!!! It was exciting.
How blessed your Mom was, Ruby, the day she welcomed you into the pack, into her home and heart! Being a champion of rescue, we need not tell her how priceless the rewards of rescue and adoption, senior adoption at that, can be! You truly are a gem, Ruby, just as beautiful and as special as can be, a treasure!

And how wonderful to hear that the first pup your Mom considered is safe, being cared for so lovingly by a foster family of her own (your Mom' friends!); responding so well to treatment! Happiness abounds!

Thanks for sharing a bit of your heartwarming backstory with us, sweetheart! Meeting you and your family today has been such a treat! I hope you enjoy a very special day of celebration...playing with your doggie brothers and sisters; chowing down on your fave foods and treats; napping in your comfy bed...s, hehe; being loved and pampered to pieces!!! Lots of love, cuddles and kisses to you, precious Ruby, our very special and most deserving Dog of the Day, EVERY day!!! Love to all of your doggie bros and sisters, your guinea pig and parakeet pals too!

    Beautiful Ruby and friends!!!

Dearest Ruby, you are absolutely adorable! What a precious little Miniature Dachshund you are, with that colorful fur that looks so soft and that sweet face with those cute perky ears and those lovely big dark eyes. Thank you for sharing all those great photos with us! It so nice to see your doggie pals and your never-empty food and water dishes and your guinea pig friend. And you have parakeets and maybe other critters, too, plus your most loving and beloved Mom! You all love each other very much, don't you. What a wonderful love-filled home you share!

And what a wonderful story you have to tell! Dear Mom-to-be saw you at the Animal Services when she went to check on another dog. That dog needed a lot of medical attention that Mom didn't feel confident to give. Then she saw you, and you fell in love and adopted each other! Then you went Home, where you met your new brothers and sisters of several species. The food and water dishes are always full and there are many dog beds all through the house. You all love each other very much, don't you. What a wonderful love-filled home you all share!

And how good to learn that the first dog Mom looked at, with the medical conditions, is now with a foster family, friends of Mom's, who are experienced at giving the kind of medical care that dog needs, and the dog is responding well to the expert care!

Congratulations, darling Ruby, on being chosen Dog of the Day! We hope you and your dear Mom and housemates of many species, and the doggie at the foster home, and all your family and friends are enjoying a fine celebration, full of fun and lovies and all your favorite games and treats.

I meant," said Ipslore bitterly, "what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?"
    Death thought about it.
CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.
