Dearest Ike, what a beautiful Black and Tan Coonhound you are! You're absolutely gorgeous, and you've got quite the nose, too! There's little in the way of smells that escapes your attention, and you speak right up to let people know, howling more than just a little. You used to live outside in a kennel, but now you have your own chair and a brand-new fleece lined bed in Mom and Dad's bedroom! You wonder why they won't let you sleep with them on the big bed all night, but they do cuddle with you there in the morning. They've told you about Rusty, their dog before you, and you're very glad he got them ready for you! You and they all love each other very much, don't you. What a wonderful love-filled home you share!

Congratulations, darling Ike, on being chosen today's Dog of the Day! We hope you and your dear Mom and Dad and all your family and friends are enjoying a fine celebration, full of fun and lovies and all your favorite games and treats. I can't imagine anyone surrendering a pup as beautiful, as sweet and loving as you, Ike, so sorry you had to wait four long months at the shelter before your forever family would find their way to you. But then again, some things are worth the wait, right Ike? (That would include getting your rightful place on the "big bed!")

Endless thanks to your family for choosing rescue, opening up their home and hearts to such a deserving boy! You, Ike, are living, loving proof of the priceless rewards of rescue!
