Sweet little Shelby!
Dearest Shelby, you are utterly adorable! What a precious tiny little fluffy kitten you are! You are such a cutie in that great photo, and thank you for sharing it with us. That's so sweet the way you're sitting up like that and looking so serious, like you are keeping an eye on something or someone nearby! Your fur is so pretty, and it's already showing how fluffy it will be as you get bigger. And you have such a sweet face with those lovely big eyes that are changing from their kitten blue to your grown-up color. I wish I could reach through the screen and over to the San Francisco Bay Area to pet you, and pet your kitty housemates Christine and Hemi and your hamster housemate too! I can't, of course, but I know your loving and beloved Purrrents will pet you all for me .
And what a wonderful story you have to tell! A very kind man rescued you and your sister and found homes for you after you'd been abandoned in the weeds. You were only four weeks old, and your dear Meowmie bottle-fed you until you were able to eat solid food. Now you eat everything in sight, even Christine's and Hemi's portions! Christine gets mad at you sometimes, but you and Hemi are best friends. You two hang out in the yard, and you cuddle up together at night. You are full of energy and make your dear Purrrents smile with your antics, climbing on things and shredding toilet paper and napkins. You love to cuddle with them as they watch TV at night. You are practicing to set a world record for the "loudest purr!" You and your family members (all species) all love each other very much, don't you. What a delightful love-filled home you share!
Congratulations, darling Shelby, on being chosen today's Cat of the Day! We hope you and your dear Purrrents and Christine and Hemi and the hamster and all your family and friends are enjoying a fine celebration, full of fun and lovies and all your favorite games and treats.
I meant," said Ipslore bitterly, "what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?"
Death thought about it.
CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.
