Thanks everyone, trying - but it's been a mixed day so far! One of our chicks got killed on the road, one of Lola's babies. Lots of out-of-state folks speeding on the road today ..

Two babies escaped the brooder then the Study. I caught one, and the other hopped down the staid and into the yard. Over an hour later, with help that arrived from Beth, a nearby farm manager and friend of Kermit's and now mine, who is more skilled wielding a net than I, and it is captured and back safe inside. Wheew!

Wow, Karen! I'm so sorry about your chickie that got killed on the road. And I'm so glad your two escapees are now safely back home.

A happy Independence Day to you all, with no more scary incidents, I hope!

    Cheers!

My niece Emily came up to visit, she just left now, but we sat and watched the local fireworks through the trees, while also being surrounded by fireflies winking in and out, and have a billion stars appears more and more as the evening darkened and clouds cleared. So that was a nice end to the day, and properly celebratory!

Sounds PERFECT, Karen! That's wonderful, just to picture it in my mind.

    Thanks!
