    Good news for Cole

After MONTHS of trying, I followed my vet's suggestion and bought a large bag of Royal Canin Urinary/Satiety dry food.

A month and a bit later, Cole had his checkup. He has lost 400g - just a hair over 14 oz and close to a pound!

I'll be keeping up with that food!

Great news! And great diet there, Cole!

That's impressive. Way to go, Candace and Cole! Royal Canin makes some great foods.

The oncologist phoned yesterday with the bloodwork results. The liver values are entirely normal - she was a bit concerned that Cole's rapid weight loss might affect it. And his glucose numbers were well within the normal range. This is especially great news as the glucose level can rise when a kitty is under stress - like getting prodded a bit with pointy thing added into the bargain!

Cole was first suspected of having mast cell cancer in December of 2016. His surgery was in the spring of 2017 and he started chemo a couple of weeks later.

If he makes the spring of 2019 - which it seems he will - he'll have been in remission for two years.

Hooray for Cole! And Hooray for Candace too. Keeping up with all the medical stuff can be challenging; especially when you are doing it for at least 2 - Cole, and Mom!
