Cows on the loose in Copenhagen

    Google translated:

The Copenhagen Police are currently trying to capture up to 25 cows at Vejlands Alle at Amager.

Police say on Twitter that the cows have forced their way through a car guard and are around the lake at Vejlands Alle og Centrum.

"We have found the owner, and so we hope he can call them when he comes out," says security chief Michael Andersen Copenhagen Police for TV 2.

He says there are more police officers on site that make sure that the cows do not run anywhere until the owner arrives.

    - There are police officers shoulder by shoulder on the spot and holding the queues back until the owner arrives. But we could use a bumper, says the watchman with a laugh. (a bumber in Danish is called kofanger = cowcatcher.

The cows were heading for the nearby highway. But it is no longer possible, says the Chief of Defense.

The effort to capture the cows can provide quite a queue at Vejlands Alle.

    I'll go watch the news...

Oh, my goodness ! Not something you expect to happen around a big city!

I hope the cows will all be safely captured and returned home. Please keep us posted, Randi!

The cows were rounded up and are back, safe and sound. They all went down to a lake, so it took some effort to get them back on the road. If you can view this, there are pictures:

Those are Highland cows, maybe they tried to swim back to Scotland.

Oh, that's great! I'm glad they're all safe and on the way home.

I'd love to see a sight like that on I-94 or US-23 going through Ann Arbor!

Ha, ha! Or heading for the airport, which is quite close. A good thing is was a nice sunny day with no wind, or they might have caught a cold.
