    Introducing Nobi

Hello everyone, I would like to introduce you to little Nobi (Korean for butterfly). A rescue group I work with in Virginia contacted me to see if I would foster him because of some help issues. At the time, when ever he walked a few steps his back end would flop to the ground (and he was incontinent). But I took him home anyways. He was in my house a week before he lost the use of his back legs. I took him for a MRI yesterday and they also did a spinal tap. It turns out that he has a FIP infection in his spinal cord and it has likely spread to his brain. There is no cure for him, but he is not in pain so I took him home for however long he will be with me. Unfortunately it is likely that he won't be with me for that long but in the meantime he is being spoiled rotten. Right now he is sitting curled up in my lap as I am working.

I'm so sorry. The good part is that you are loving him and taking care of him during his final hours/days. I'm glad he will be spoiled rotten. He will know your kind hand and good heart. Good for you... Kay

Thanks for "fospicing" this special baby. FIP is such a cruel disease.

Thank you everyone. When I took him in, I had no idea that he had FIP. I went through this when Conner passed so I know what the disease is like. I figure as long as his is content and not feeling any pain, then he will stay with us for awhile.

I have photos of him, but I haven't been able to figure out how to upload them.

Welcome home, dearest little Nobi.. being loved so much and spoiled so thoroughly non-stop!

Bless you, Nobi, and bless you, Cheryl.

You are an amazing person to let him live out the rest of his days with love and care.
I wish I could take in special needs pets, but working away from home (with almost an hour commute each way) it just isn't possible.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

Thank you. When it is time for RB, Nobi will remember only love and being spoilt rotten.

The medication the vet gave me has helped him somewhat. He is able to stand on his own for short periods of time and can even take a couple of steps. I know this is a short term improvement and he likely will not live to be a full year old (he is only about 7 months right now). But at least he is still eating and nloving attention.

Thank you so very much for caring enough to help make this little one's days comfortable and filled with love. I agree with Gary and look forward to seeing Nobi as our Cat of the Day.

Nobi is at the RB and healthy

Nobi's time came last night. Yesterday it was bright and sunny here and he spent the day watching out the patio window. As usual, he complained when I gave him his bath but we cuddled afterwards and he was okay. I did ask him last night if it was time for him to go and this morning when I came into the room he had left me.
