    Should my mom be worried?

Yes, this is about Binky. The digestive food has worked out well with the occasional barf, once because too much warm water was added to the food.

The movers are coming Tuesday so things are getting stressful for Mom. She thinks there is "something wrong" with Binky. He peed just a little spot this morning. His bowel movements are smaller. I think this is a result of him eating mostly dry food instead of all wet.

She spent almost $500 on a geriatric checkup about a month ago. Blood and urine etc were fine.

I know she is concerned about looking after Binky when she is in assisted living. I don't see anything wrong with him really. He IS 16 years old.

Thanks for any insight you have.

Will you be nearby, Candace, able to come over and check things out frequently?

He is probably picking up on her stress, if nothing else. She should just keep an eye on him, his whole life is getting disrupted, so it is natural he would react!

I'll be nearby. I think as Mom adjusts Binky will seem much healthier to her!

Yes, I think you and Karen are right. Your mom and Binky are both facing monumental changes to their way of life and undergoing stress in advance. As they get used to the new surroundings and the new routine, your mom and then Binky will relax and things will get much better.

Best wishes to your mom and Binky, and you too, Candace!

Binkey is great. He is on an easily digestible kibble - which, despite his many missing teeth, he enjoys.

He gets wet food once a day or so - and I put some stool softener in his kibble every few days.

So far - no barf! Almost 2 weeks now. And he has put on some weight!

Mom has enjoyed many of the activities at the residence. Her health is still not great - we see a BP specialist on May 5. She has a "Parkinson's Plus" syndrome. It - and the best medication for it - cause drops in her blood pressure when she stands up. EG: lying down - 110/63. Standing up (taken after several minutes) - 88/60.

    We'll get there.

    Thanks for asking!
