What a pretty kitty. I had to reply because my Shadow also climbs to the top of the tallest cabinet (onto the counter, onto the refrigerator, and onto the cabinet) where she can hide from her too-clumsy-to-climb brother. She likes to view the world from above, like Taquitos. So, pretty black kitty, enjoy your day as Cat of the Day and enjoy your view from the top.

This is Taqs, she's a rescue kitty. Taquitos officially, or Taks, or Teeks - depending on my mood. I can't help giving her nicknames. She was in a no-kill shelter, her previous owners just sort of gave her up for their own reasons. We say we live in Kittyland (Formally Meowstantinople)!

She is a sweet, social, friendly cat. I'm more used to biters and clawers, but she rarely does either. She runs the house already, and lately has been carrying her food dish upstairs from the kitchen randomly. I'd love to get a pic of that in action, but you know how cats go. They are super cute and zany until you have a camera, then they just stare at you like you're an idiot.

When she's not being hounded by the camera, she enjoys checking the hummingbird feeder, climbing to and hollering from the top of the kitchen cabinets, and just being adorable.

Miss Taqs, what a gorgeous girl you are! Your black fur is so shiny and glossy, and you have such beautiful gem-like green eyes! You are a busy girl, too - you keep an eye on the hummingbird feeder; you go to the top of the kitchen cabinets and holler down from them! And you carry your own food dish out of the kitchen at random, just to keep your humans on their toes! What a busy, smart and beautiful girl you are! Happy, happy Cat of the Day to precious Taqs!
