Digi stopping in to show off her fur baby

    Digi: "I made this!"

I still have to brush her to get more out, but she hates being brushed and was very vocal.

Oops, I didn't realize how large of an image that was going to be as it was taken with my cell, so I assumed a tad bit smaller then that monster lol

I'm just happy that all of Digi's fur has grown back, only took 6yrs

Lol I love it! and she does look so proud!
Owned by my baby and heart-dog Lolli.

Wow - 2 dogs. At least you don't have to feed or have vet bills for the smaller one. Digi is so pretty - and looks soooo happy!

When I brushed Myndi and Sparky - I always had enough fur to make another dog - but not so much with Wolfy. He sheds, but not nearly as much as those other 2 Fuzzbuttz did.

She looks a lot more Sheltie-like now that she has all her fluff!

Shes an English Shepherd. I did a lot of research in the area she came from, and that is the popular farm breed out there. Shes a lot larger then a Sheltie weighing about 40lbs (shes not a skeleton dog anymore but is still slim), and she loves to herd things like crazy, so shes always nipping at the kitties paws when they are doing something they shouldn't. She acts just like an English Shepherd is known to, which is perfect for my life style lol

Cool, I bet they have common ancestors! Their behavior sounds similar, too!

I know nothing about Shelties except they are pretty small, but the English Shepherd is the original breed to the BC, Collie, and the A.Shepherd. So depending on location in EU, depends on what gene pool the English Shepherd is closer too. Digi is closer to the Collie side due to her pointier snout and smaller skull. English Shepherds are not a breed here in North America (unless its changed, I don't keep up on that stuff) as there is no common look/shape to them. In EU the "breed" standard makes them look a lot like A. Shepherds with the block shaped head.

In short, they are a wide range farm mutt that can do anything and everything a farm needs from herding chickens, to herding cattle, to looking over the children, to guarding the farm. Thats why they were so popular as farm dogs back in the day & still are on old style farms (Mennonites).

My info could be a tad off, but thats the gist of what I learned about the breed with a quick search years ago.

The small skull, pointy snout/long nose - those are all very Sheltie traits!

How sweet! And how proud she is! Deservedly so, too.

Digi looks happy to get rid of all that extra fur. You could knit a sweater with all the soft doggie fur.
The frost is on the pumpkin & I've been BOO'D by two pet talk ghosts.
    Thank you Fritz & Cassiesmom
