You have effectively killed an industry.

It is now illegal for recreational fishermen to keep Cod or Haddock in New England waters from September 1st to April 30th.

Those dates sandwich the prime fishing times, and close the grounds for recreational fishermen who do little to no damage to the ecosystem, while leaving the dragnetters and midwater trawlers free to rape the oceans.

Draggers, for those who aren't familiar with the practice, drag a net on the bottom of the ocean held down by weights, normally chains and rollers, ripping everything up in their paths.

Time to find a new place to fish.
