Girl, 9, kills gun instructor with Uzi (CNN)

Can somebody please explain to me what a gun instructor was doing training a nine year old to use a uzi?
What were the parents thinking of?

Has the world gone mad? Yes, it has.
I am very sorry for the girl whose parents are responsible for her having killed someone at the age of nine.

The blame goes completely on the parents and they should be charged with a crime.

I own various kinds of guns and would NEVER allow a child, that young, to fire a weapon such as a machine pistol.

I do believe in GUN SAFETY and was taught to respect and fear guns.

This was a total act of lunacy that ended in an accident - for every idiot incident there are hundreds of other times where young children are taught to shoot weapons that are 'appropriate' for their skill level.

No, I am not trying to turn this into a pro gun statement/rant. It's a tragedy and has to be put into a proper perspective - this child was in NO WAY old enough to be firing that style or weapon.

In my opinion, unless one is trying to teach a child how to kill; the only things a child has to learn at that age is how to safely handle the weapon, aim accurately and load and unload. You can teach that with a pea shooter or a BB gun!

What a shame. A man loses his life & a young girl is traumatized. What were her parents thinking?

This is the other news story that has me SMH. At what point should the production crew have been sent away from the scene, for their own safety?

Actually an AK would be much easier to handle.
