Did someone say root beer floats? I'm in for that!!!

Guess what I saw at the grocery store yesterday? They now have frozen fruit and veggie bars!!!
Reminds me of how mom used to sneak shredded carrots in our lime jello thinking we would not notice them.
No matter what anyone does, someone some where will be offended some how!!!!

Last night I cleaned and sliced a mess of strawberries, sprinkled a little sugar on 'em and stuck them in the fridge, so they are available for any sundaes that might want some added!

Karen, I've got some yummy coconut yogurt that would be awesome with those strawberries.

Would love a vanilla ice, orange crush float please.

How about a Vanilla coke float?

After the last week, I think I need spf9000 to get yardwork done.

HOw about a round of garden wars?

The eggplant plants, basil, and 3 tomato plants are currently battling it out over which one will take over the raised bed they're in, and the oregano and the peppers are fighting it out over their raised bed.

The mint, dill and chives have evidently decided to call it a draw over their bed, they actually choked out the beebalm and lemon balm.

My cousin came to visit yesterday and brought me some yummy cantaloupes from her garden. They are big and juicy!!! Would go great with homemade vanilla ice cream. That's how we ate it sometimes when I was a kid. I'll share!!!

I'll toss in some raspberries to go with the cantaloupe and ice cream. (How about some meringue bowls to serve it in?)

If you are going to bring your melons out, I am going to admire them......

    One scoop of double vanilla!

    LH,

    I have some cherries, too!

    karen,

    Taste of summer?

There was a little spot right outside of the kitchen on the porch where the water would collect in a small puddle after someone turned the hose on. The routine was to put a water melon in the spot and let it get cool for a day or two.

Then dad would sit on the stoop with a large knife and cut it up for us - whenever I cut into a watermelon I laugh and think about that........good times.
