    Kittennapping in Princeton

Hi PT friends and your wonderful kitties! There was a front page article in yesterday's Trenton newspaper with the picture of an adorable orange kitten named Casino. Last week three 19 year old boys attempted to steal two three month old kittens. Piper Burrows, the executive director of the Princeton based SAVE shelter provided some details. Two of them entered the shelter, took the kittens, then ran out the back door. A volunteer was in the back yard training a dog when they ran out carrying the kittens. The volunteer, who is not named, thought it unusual to see them running into the woods carrying the kittens so he took off after them. He caught one of them and managed to pin him down and rescue the kitten while telling the staff to get the police. The police got there in a few minutes and both kittennappers were arrested on the spot and have been charged with burglary and theft. Both babies, Casino and Penny, were returned uninjured and safe. In fact, Penny has been adopted! A few days later, the third guy turned himself in as the driver of the get away car. All three were released on their own recognizance. The executive director said this kitten snatching is the first such incident in the shelter's 53 year history.

How fortunate the dog trainer was alert and saw what was happening. We are glad the third guy was even smart enough to turn himself in! I do not want to know what nefarious purposes they had in mind when they tried to steal the kittens! I am glad everyone is safe, at least!

They would sell them to a lab, or give them out as gifts to other irresponsible people. I remember an imbecile who tried to steal a Kittenfrom a Pet Shop.
She stuffed the Kitten into her sweater , and then
    OUCH!!!:
That should have taught her a painful lesson

Every day there is something in the news that is an example of a poorly developed brain or just plain stupid lazy mean people. This stealing of kittens is one of them. I hate to think what the idiots would have done with the kittens. Just shaking my head! If only they (the thieves) had a working brain to use on something worthwhile such as a job.

Ignorance and animal abuse can drive ya insane. I will NEVER forget the time I was walkin' in a fancy mall with my husband. This woman went to answer her cell phone and her little miniature designer puppy, ya it was a baby (sigh) fell out of her purse onto the concrete floor. She didn't bat an eyelash or stop talking on the phone. She bent over, tried to fluff it back up and crammed the wee angel back in her purse. I turned all white and my husband had to grab hold of me cuz he was afraid I was gonna lunge at her and take the dog away. No good would have come from that. I am sick to this day just thinking about it.

Amen to that. I wish there was a way to round up all the lame brained, mean people & keep them in a separate state where they could
only cause trouble for each other.
