"Imperfect" Pictures (well, guess I'm just bored lol)

Lately, I became a little bored with my photography, even to a point that I rarely take pictures.

Instead, I'm trying to give the ones that I have an "imperfect", vintage look, grainy and blurry, that's the way I share them on Instagram. Here are a few examples. What do you think?

(Hope the URLs are working, please let me know)

For this, I used a filter smeared with vaseline to get the blur effect:

This one was taken while I was walking which created the motion blur:

I can see them fine, vintage effect is nice on some, I like the lace one and the waterlily one best!

But the "Instagram effect" is something I dread on Pet nominations!

    Glad the links are working.

I agree, for pages like Pet of the Day, the pictures should come in a good quality, I would never contribute Instagram or Hiptamatic pictures on occasions like that. It's more a just for fun-thing; I use my Instagram account to show pictures a little bit different from the ones I usually post. BTW, the look is not only created with Instagram, I'm always doing some processing in advance. Otherwise it would be too simple, wouldn't it?

My favorite is the water lily. That's the important part, perfectly focused and colorful.

I really like these, Kirsten.. "imperfect" or whatever!

    Death thought about it.
CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.

Hmmm, funny, the water lily pic is the one I like least of all.

I love the lace and the waterlilly!!

ps. I know this will sound a bit stupid, but I have no idea what "Instagram" is.....
If someone can explain that to me, I'd be very grateful !

Instagram(.com) is a popular photo-sharing service that lets users apply various "effects" filter to their images when they post, to make them look old-timer, or posterized, or other things.

    Kirsten,
As always these pictures are great!!! I love the one of the cow. It brings back many happy memories of spending time on my uncle's dairy farm when I was growing up.

Whether you see them as imperfect or perfect, the rest of us see them as they are, excellent photography.

I enjoyed most of the photos. I guess I'm old fashioned in that I prefer crisp clear photos rather than grainy or sort of blurred ones. I'll probably forget some but I liked the water lily, the lace, the two cat photos, and the cow. I grew up on a dairy farm and we used to have Holstein cows which were black & white. Thanks for showing us.

My favorite? NONE!! I couldn't pick a favorite if I tried. How I would love to fly you over here and shoot pictures of both J and the pets. You have such an amazing eye.
