    Breeding bettas?

Anyone every breed bettas? I've been looking to do it. I've done my research, have all the supplies (including microworms, other food and a place to take all the fry should they hatch) My problem is getting the betta themselves to breed :/ I have them in a large tank with a divider for the male/female. I put them together and nothing happens. My female seems to be large with eggs and I think I can see her breeding stripes but no luck :/ Any ideas?

It can be hard to tell with fish, definitely keep an eye on her. Here is a link with a good description of what will happen ...

The female seems to have eggs and I'm pretty sure she has the stripes. He wasn't really looking for her

Someone on the fish forum just had a successful spawning -- after more than 10 failed attempts, and several deaths in battles.

I sometimes wonder how they manage to thrive in the wild!
