    MacGyver is at The Bridge

My kitty, Mac, went to The Bridge yesterday morning. He hadn't been doing well with his hyperthyroid lately, he had been to the vet and she told us to up his dosage of methimazole. Nothing seemed to help him and he just kept losing weight. Friday night he had a seizure and a stroke. I was all set to take him to the vet after work and do the kind thing. But, like so many times before, Mac rallied and was almost back to his normal self on Saturday. So, I didn't call the vet (it's next to impossible to get in with her on the weekend, anyway). Sunday was a very bad day for Mac and I was ready to cancel a morning appointment to take him to the vet on Mionday. My sweet boy saved me that terrible trip. He died sometime early Monday mornig curled up next to me on my bed. He was always such a sweet, smart, considerate cat, I do believe he wanted to go at home, next to his Meowmie. I am missing him, but am almost happy that my valiant boy is now whole and helathy again. I will miss him terribly, but it was best he left us. The quality of his life was going downhill rapidly. Kimba keeps looking for him. It's strange, I never thought they liked each other that much. Anyway, Kimba needs a playmate, he just loves to play and socialize, unlike Mac most of the time. I promised Mac years ago that when he left, I would save another kitty in his honor. Of course, I'm not ready just yet, but soon.
I miss you Micky Mac. You were the best orange cat that ever was!

Thank you both, very much. Yes, Mac was as special as a cat can be. He was loving, smart (one of the smartest cats I've ever known), and never, ever, did anything nawty! He was perfectly behaved, even as a young cat. He always loved to sleep on or next to me, every night. Even on that last night, he managed to get himself up on my bed to sleep next to me. I am missing him very much, but I am also happy that he is out of his suffering.

Rest in peace, handsome MacGyver. Bless you for saving your mom that last trip to the vet, we are glad for you both that your struggles and pain are now over and you are happy and whole again at The Rainbow Bridge. Send some purrs both to your mom and to Kimba, so they know all is well with you where you are.

Oh, I am so very sorry. What a beautiful, beautiful cat, in appearance and in spirit. And a beautiful, beautiful Angel at the Rainbow Bridge now. How good that he was able to leave from home curled up next to his beloved Meowmie who loves him so very much.

May your precious memories and mementoes help to bring you comfort, Katladyd.

Dearest MacGyver, please send some purrs down to the hearts of your dear Meowmie and your dear Kimba to reassure them that all is well and you are with them always.

Wow, that brought on the tears. You know how much he loved you in that he chose to go while next to you. Cats usually like to go hide when it is there time to go.
    That just broke my heart.

RIP Mac, when the time is right you can help find Kimba a new friend.

We are so sorry to hear about MacGyver's passing. It is so hard to find that our Cat Companions have passed away, and finding a Cat who has passed on makes us so sad , as we know that they will be no longer a part of our lives.
I am fortunate to have movies of my Found Hotel Cats so I can always see them

All of Our Awesome Eternal Angel Companions are taking MacGyver Angel to the Food Court at Limeridge Mall where he can have all he wants from 18 restaurants and he can get some clothes from fine clothiers.
MacGyver will always love you and will find that special place in paradise where you can get together forever.

Thank you so much, my friends, for all your kind words. They have meant so much to me. We have all gone through this, so your responses mean even more to me. This apartment is way too quiet with just one cat in it. Kimba doesn't play anymore. He is still sweet and love laps, but he doesn't chase his tail or do zoomies, or bug hunt right now. He is just sleeping a lot. So, this afternoon I am starting the search for another fur baby to love and treasure. I do hope Mac and Ming lead me to the purrfect kitty for us!

I am so sorry to read about MacGyver leaving you. It is never easy for us when they pass to the RB. But he will be waiting for you when the time comes and you can cuddle with him again.
