    #583 April showers bring

A Run for the Roses on saturday!

It's time for the Kentucky Derby! Mint Juleps, hats, bourbon and horses..

The numbers/places for the race were pulled yesterday and it's a countdown until the race......

I think an MJ is in order.

Lots of fun to be had.
    ----

    Is there more banana bread?

    Done?

There is still some banana bread, I'll get that from the kitchen. Are there any desserts associated with the Derby, besides the milt juleps!

You may be sorry you asked...

The showers here have turned into snow. We're under a heavy snowfall warning. It's -3oC. Not that cold but not what you want to see in May. I've got the tea on for anyone who might like to join me.

That pie looks completely indulgent! I'll have a slice here at Thursdays, as in real life the walnuts would do me in! And I suspect substituting sunflower seeds or pumpkin seeds would just NOT do.

Derby Pie isn't for the weak of heart, mind or will.

    It's really really good.

    One slice.....done.

Just edited my post to say "indulgent," instead of decadent.

    But thanks, looks extra yummy.

I just brewed a large pot of chai, anyone want some? Double strength so good over ice or just as it is!

Late birthday pie and a coffee? Maybe some catnip teas for the kitties...and I don't know what one would order for a hamster. Rodney is a picky critter.
