    Kids read to homeless cats

This is from "Take Action! at Greater Good". The following post is verbatim.

"The Animal Rescue League of Berks County in Birdsboro, Pennsylvania deserve applause for creating the Reading Buddies Program. This initiative is a weekly event where children sit and read to cats available for adoption.
While the kids reading to the cats get to gain confidence from a nonjudgmental audience, the cats become more comfortable with human interaction making them more suitable for adoption.
As a result, the program had garnered a large following within the local community and increased adoption numbers. It's a cute and cuddly win-win situation!
Show your support for the Animal Rescue League's outstanding program and encourage others to consider adopying a shelter pet today!"

In reading this fabulous story, I noticed one omission. Through this program, along with improving their reading skills the kids are also learning to treat animals with love, care, and respect while enjoying the love only a kitty can give.

This is something well worth sharing. The actual story at Take Action at Greater Good has a link to send a shout-out to the Animal Rescue League for initiating this initiative. Unfortunately, I don't know how to post the actual website. If any of you know how to do it, please post it so those so inclined can send a well deserved recognition.

I've seen it before, but it's certainly worth sharing again. What a great idea it is - a win-win situation indeed.

That is great as the Cats do not know what is being read , but they certainly respond to the warmth and love of these young people and will socialize all that much faster
That is such a Great idea , as it helps with these youngsters reading too. What a good idea.
