These 25 Towns Have The Most Ridiculous Names Ever. I Feel Bad For Residents Of #8, LOL.

They missed Elbow, Saskatchewan. Moose Jaw is pretty weird too!

Everyone probably has a few complaints about their hometown. I know I do. Some are small, some are big. Some are rural and some are urban. … and then some have such insane names, you’d think a two year-old founded them. When I saw these 25 town names, I thought someone was playing a joke. But, oh no. These are real.
1.) There is where the horse with no name grew up.

2.) GASP! I knew the North Pole was a lie.

3.) I was meant to live in this town.

4.) Ah, a city for the desperate.

5.) I wonder how the tourism is here.

6.) Slow down, take time to look at all of the ugly.

7.) The internet is taking over our lives.

    8.) Ummmm. Forget it.

    9.) This doesn’t seem promising.

10.) Discover the answer to life’s tough questions here.

    11.) Better than Anti-Alaska.

12.) I must visit this delicious town.

13.) Both the name AND the sign are depressing. That’s impressive.

14.) Why stop here? Why not.

15.) Truth or Dare’s responsible, boring cousin.

    16.) ALL OF THE YES.

17.) The perfect destination for any family road trip.

18.) The people here do throw great parties, though.

    19.) Cool. Cool, cool, cool.

20.) Wait, is passing wind radar controlled?

21.) Now THIS is the town for me.

22.) I’m not sure if the hyphens are helping me jot this down…

23.) If you’re a human, this town is for you.

24.) Crapstone doesn’t want any of your crap.

25.) It’s hard to believe there’s so few who live here.

I don’t know about you, but I’m thinking of visiting Cheesequake. Life would have to be awesome in a town name like Cheesequake (seeing that it was named after an incredible dessert).

I don't feel sorry for #8's residents, they likely have a much shorter name they use for very day, and are proud when, as children they learn to say and spell the whole think correctly!

I know as kids we felt accomplished when we learned to say and spell Lake Chargoggagoggmanchauggagoggchaubunagungamaugg - but when going there, we'd just call it Webster Lake.

I always like Moosup - a town in eastern Connecticut, as I picture a moose lying on its back, legs up!

LMAO Thanks for posting, Candace. I needed a chuckle on this gloomy, chilly day, since I'm feeling gloomy and chilly too. I need Spring and sunshine in my life - I'm sick of the Winter that doesn't want to end. Enough is enough, already ! Possible snow on Tuesday - say it isn't so.....

    How about:?

    Sweet Lips, TN
Oddville, KY (I know some people that should live there)

One of this year's American Idol contestants is from Slapout, Alabama!

And when you don't know a "kill" is a waterfall, Fishkill, NY is an odder name!

They missed Sandwich, Illinois (DeKalb County, population 7500). And Normal - named for the Illinois Normal School (for teacher training) that was located there- it's now Illinois State University.

I always liked Flin Flon, a town in Canada (Manitoba?) which always seems to show up on the arctic blast weather maps.

It's funny, I forget others might consider Sandwich as a funny name, I think of the one here in terms of Sandwich glass, instead of the food!

I never did understand how this town got this name, since it is in the heart of the very religious and straight-laced Amish country. I wonder if they are embarrassed to speak it out loud?

In my travels back and forth to NC, I noticed a lot of strange names on the Interstate exit signs. One that I always laughed at was Dinwiddie, VA. It always made me think of dimwit.
