    Amigo meets his vet

    Hi PT friends,
Yesterday Amigo was finally able to meet his white coat - Dr. Schoell. She gave him a complete check up and said he's in excellent health and weighs in at 6 1/2 lbs. - right where he should be. He doesn't have to go back until December for his rabies booster so, as the vet said, she can keep him legal. Amigo was quite a hit at the office, the staff kept coming in to see him and pet him. Our little guy really enjoyed the attention. He
behaved beautifully, sat on the examining table looking around this unfamiliar place and making friends with the great people who work there.

We go to the Veterinary Care Clinic here in Trenton where everyone on staff treats each pet as if that pet was their own. Before starting any part of the examination they talk to the "patient" then gently pet them to help them relax and feel comfortable. In addition, our vets participate in TNR. The receptionist told me when they hear of strays or ferals in the area, a team goes out to humanely catch them then bring them back to the office. The cats then get a complete check up, any medical care they might need, then spay/neuter. Whenever possible the kitties are put up for adoption at the vet's office. We wouldn't consider taking Amigo anywhere else.

It sounds like you have a wonderful vet! My vet is kind and gentle like that. I think female vets are the best! They seem to really care about your furkid and always take their feelings into consideration. Of course, I don't have to tell you that you also have a wonderful kitty!
Proud to be a crazy cat lady!
