    what tricks are eaiser to teach an older dog?

    i have a dog that is 8 and i want to teach her some more diffacult tricks (if it helps she knows the basic comands).
    she is a bluehealer and is the biggest sook hehehe.
    and she is quite intelligant.
    well if u have any tricks plz tell!

    p.s. she kisses my pet rats hehehe (&)

    Myabe teach her hande signals? I did that ith our 10 (now 11) year old Sheltie. He learned them quickly and loved doing them.

    Juneau is 2 and I just taught him to 'Hop' I hold a toy high above him, and he stands on his hind legs

    right at the moment i am teaching her the thru hoop tric and we rais it higher and higher she got it real quick to.

    As long as the dog is willing and in good health, you should be able to teach her anything that you want. You just have to keep in mind how safe it is for the dog and if you want to put the time in to it.

    cool,
    she is a good dog i just cant touch her hips she is a little sensitive about them
    poor thing
    but she does try to do it for me anyway
    i dress her up in clothes and stuff and she wont let me take them off. hehe
    and when she has them on she posses for the camera! hehe.

    if her hips are bad, best not to have her jumping over things

    they arn't like bad but she just doesn't like me touching them

    they arn't even saw.
    i think it is because when she was little she was raped so she is wiery of people that try to touch her hips
    o poor thing
    o well thanx for ur concern
    o and ur dog is so cute!

    An older dog can be taught any thing a young dog can, they just must be more mindful of physical limits.I started training an 10 year old Cocker she lived to be 16 . She was deaf and blind by that time. You have to be the one aware they older one love so much the give without thought to themselves .

    ya i agree,
    she has mastered thru the hoop now
    and looked pretty prowed she has done it
    lol
    thanx for all the help
    so i guess the saying "u cant teach an old dog new tricks" is so wrong
