Deer rescue - fell through the ice -- my hometown

On Friday, Jan 10, 2014, a deer fell through the ice in the Providence River. East Providence Fire rescued the deer, with an assist from the water boat from Cranston Fire. The deer was loaded into the rescue ambulance (I spotted Officer Will Muggle, our East Prov ACO!) as they felt it was not able to be released immediately. Here is a link to the story, and on that page there is a 10 minute video of the water rescue. Sure hope the deer recovers!

Oh, what a great story! All our prayers and good wishes that the deer comes through this all right.

I meant," said Ipslore bitterly, "what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?"
    Death thought about it.
CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.

So happy to hear the deer will be ok. What a great rescue thanks to the firefighters.

We had a similar incident in Boston, but it was a dog that got rescued - http://bostonherald.com/news_opinion...rom_icy_harbor

And I adore the firefighter interviewed! "A life is a life, he said, whether it’s that of a four-legged or two-legged Bostonian.

“We look at the pets like citizens,” he said. “They’re loved by their owners and we want to make sure, whether it’s in a burning building or a freezing lake, we just want to get them out safe.”"
