Thursday #565. Last Thursday of 2013.

    Dang,

    Another year has FLOWN by.

It seems that we were just having a Super Bowl and now it's time for another vacation for Washington DC.

    I kid, I kid.

It was an interesting year and hopefully 2014 will be a lot better and calmer?

Well, looks like 2013 isn't done being difficult yet. Would love a glass of baileys over ice, a seat by the fire and a wee snuggle with Angel under a soft, snuggly fleece blanket.

We - Lady's Human and I - have a firm plan to burn the 2013 calendar. We have not, as a family, been big on celebrating the New Year, but this time we are more than ready for the new one to begin, thanks!

Alas for me, mine will be a virtual calendar burning, as I have no physical calendar for 2013, and a gas fireplace that is sealed, but at a certain house in the hills above Binghamton, a calendar will surely quite literally go up in smoke.

Today we had a family Christmas gathering for much of the clan (minus the California contingent and NY state crew) so I have some leftover ham and homemade rolls - anyone want some?

Stale stollen is going to be turned into french toast for breakfast, so anyone who wants some, join in.

Oooh, yum! Me, please!!! I so miss fruitcake - but finding one with no nuts AND no cranberries or canola oil is near impossible, anyway, so ... Stollen French Toast - yum!

Well, Happy New Year everyone. Have a safe evening. Look forward to seeing everyone back here tomorrow. 2014 will be a better year for us all.

I'll have another baileys on ice please.

Well, I still have 3+ hours to go until New Year's but just wanted to check in and ask for a lemon drop. Today was a rather down day for me and I shed many tears for Gini. I keep talking to her and so in her memory I would like to ask you to do the following:

    - go hug your significant one and tell him/her how you feel
    - do the same to the pets in your life
    - do the same for the elderly in your life
    - do one thing every day to pay it forward
    - you may not have all that you want, but you have all that you need. Be thankful for that and the other gifts in your life.
    - do one small thing every day to better your health
    - DON'T MAKE NY RESOLUTIONS. They are only made to be broken IMO. Instead, try to be a better person in the coming year, whatever that means to you.

Love you all and Richard, if you are listening, I need one giant, huge, humungous Lemon Drop.

Can you imagine that NY EVE party that's going on at the Bridge???? Phred has probably got the fire brigade out in charge of the fireworks and all are gathered around the bit fire pit.

    Until next year PT.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

Awww, yes, I never make "New Year's Resolutions" just try to be a good person every day. I do need to get back with exercising, but that has nothing to do with the calendar date, just common sense!

Was thinking of all our deceased Pet Talkers and other loved ones, Dad never was on Pet Talk, but he met some Pet Talk folks (besides the ones he of course was actual a father to), and I think he and Phred and my Uncle Jake could have some great conversations up there! And Gini and Corinna and my Mom of course, and Molly (Sammi on Pet Talk) is likely amongst them, commiserating with Gini on lung issues, and oh what a grand bunch we have up there ... and Jonza and Wanda and Terry and ...

May old acquaintance n'er be forgot and ever brought to mind indeed.
