They think it is a newly identified virus, but are warning folks to be careful!

I'm glad my dogs are now 'stay at home' dogs! Layla needs her vetting in October. Not sure I even want to take her to the vet.
At least she's always nervous and won't even sniff the floor while there.

That's pretty scary that they know so little about this virus.

All the affected dogs were kenneled there, I think! I'd call your vet's office close to the appointment and ask if they have seen any cases.

    That's a good idea Karen.

Layla's vet visit went well. My vet said no cases of the virus have been to their hospital. He told me the Dept. of Agriculture have notified him to report any cases and save any samples that may help identify this virus.
    Also, in Michigan...

The link you provided has the story that I read about this virus. The fact that they think it could be passed from humans to dogs
makes this a little unusual. The women they quoted said she had been ill for a few days before her dog became sick. The Docs
recommended people be extra careful about washing hands when they are ill.

Lizbud, I really don't think they're sure of what this virus is or if it's the same one. My vet doesn't seem to feel they know. I think it's kind of strange it shows up in one place, then stops and shows up in another???
