    Happiness is

A puppy with a new tennis ball.

Had a bit of an issue the other night, which disturbed someone's world greatly. She was really good, and didn't chew on anyone, so we decided she needed a new tennis ball as a reward. (The old one had been chewed into a potato chip sized disc!)

On the way home from work this morning, I diverted and bought someone a new can of tennis balls.

She didn't want to go out until we had played keepaway for about 10 minutes.

After we went out, she didn't want cookies, she darted for the tennis ball.

She brought her new tennis ball to bed.

    And has already popped it.

As an aside, I have a bone to pick with the shelter.

They stated in the adoption paperwork that "Angel tolerated her bath well".

I'd like to ask what their definition is? Not ripping arms off of the shelter volunteers?

Someone went on a jaunt the other day, and off we went up over the river and through the woods to the pasture (where we were chased off by the herd steer), back down through both levels of the neighbor's barn, through the culverts, .......

Needless to say, we were a touch muddy. TO get her in the tub for her bath, I had to put her on the leash, and hold the leash short and tight to bathe her.

The only way her behavior could have been called "tolerating " the bath was not getting the cold shoulder for 2 days after the fact like her predecessor would have done.

Maybe she was too hungry from being a stray when they got her, and forgot to fight 'em! At least she's pretty quick to dry!

Would the bath have gone better if she'd had her tennis ball with her?

I don't think the bath would have gone better short of a tranquilizer gun. It was THAT bad. (I have to get a different shampoo for the pup........WAY too much perfume in the stuff, it's been a while since we used it, as Lady didn't exactly appreciate baths either.)
