    Emily is at the Bridge

After talking with my brother and considering all of the issues at hand I realized that Emily had one paw in another dimension already. I didn't think it would be today, but for some reason my packed day became light and easy after the first two errands. (Two students cancelled, so I knew what I needed to do.)

She went peacefully and fast. She had so little meat and fat on her that the sleepers knocked her out in a minute. This is the first time I've stayed with an animal until the end. I buried her in the back yard.

I miss her. She had such a personality and was a fighter. A typical Tortie Diva. I'll miss her begging food from me, even after she just ate.

I'll miss you, Emily. I wish I could have done more for you.

Her favorite perch before she got sick.

    She so loves food.

    She kept herself so white.

She loved posing for the camera

RIP Emily, and healing peace to you Anne.

You gave Emily the greatest gift that she could ever receive - your love, and the sacrifice to let her go. She will always be in your heart, so she does live on and on.

It's said so often that cats are good at hiding sickness and pain...it's so hard to tell how they really are.

I wish you and Emily peace, and sweet memories that will heal you in the days to come.

Thank you all so much. I miss her. I miss her begging food. Greeting me at the front door. Her rough voice.
