    Update for Franklin

Franklin saw the vet yesterday. The good news is, the meds he is taking to keep his heart rate from going too high are working. Even though he was stressed from the visit his heart rate was in the normal range. Had some blood work but no results yet.
My plan is still the same: love him and keep him comfortable for as long as I can. He looks so strong and healthy its hard to believe he has heart disease. But the reality is, he has Hypertropic cardiomyopathy which is almost always fatal. The best I can hope for is to buy him some time, so I look at each day that he is still here as being a wonderful gift.

We are sending along loads of love and warm energies to you, dearest Franklin. Your Meowmie loves you very much.

    Death thought about it.
CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.

Awww, Franklin! I'm glad the medication is keeping your heart rate under control. I hope and pray that you will be with your loving, caring meowmie and Princess Chelsea Pearl for a very long time to come.

I've been MIA around here, I know; I'm sorry to read that Franklin has HCM but glad to read that the meds are helping. Since my Mordred has a heart murmur (but no disease), I'm always particularly interested in heart cases. May the meds keep Franklin with you for a good long time yet.
