Subject: special needs kitties Pannda and Aslan

Pannda is a 9 yr old neutered DLH who has had life threatening bladder infections. he is on a special diet, (SD Script CD formula) to prevent future infections/issues. in 2009 he had to have surgery to clean crystals out of his bladder, it was so bad. Pannda is an inside only kitty, and has never been allowed outside. He is overdue for routine shots. Pannda is sweet, affectionate, playful, feisty, and very young at heart. you will find him at times running to one end of the house to the other, being kitty crazy! lol

Aslan is 9 1/2 years old and is a develop mentally delayed neutered, DSH who has never been "quite right". He also is on a special diet for bladder infections, same as Pannda, Aslan is extremely fearful of people in general, and is very dependent on Pannda as well as close to his brother. in summer of 2011, Aslan suffered what is thought to be a stroke and there's a weakening on his right side that is expressed in his front and back legs. what exactly caused this we aren't sure. because of his limited mobility, Azzy, his nickname, needs assistance with grooming. he is litter box trained but can be very picky about his litterboxes and can also urinate outside the box. he has never defecated outside the box. Once Azzy knows you, he's very sweet and affectionate. he's not a big player like Pannda, and also sleeps a lot. His preference is a soft bed and a warm place, direct sunlight being ideal. he has recently no longer been able to carry his tail straight up, and it usually goes to the right, when he does carry it high. We don't know if Azzy will present with other issues down the road, or if his life will be shorter then some other cats because of it. What we do know is he definitely is going to need his brother Pannda during this major transition and separation of the two is not an option.
