    Pretty Ellie

Hello Ellie, you are a pretty girl and I'm glad you're learning to live in peace with yourself and your human. Life is good and I hope you enjoy it to the fullest from this point forward. I think your Lab heritage is showing in your picture with the wet belly and wet hind legs...could there be a little mud there too? If there is, so what, have fun!!! How anyone could abuse a pup like you is totally beyond me and I know that's hard to deal with but with the love and devotion of you human, healing can happen...according to your story, it's already happening and I feel confident the healing will continue. I've had many rescues and I currently have three rescues that are truly wonderful companions. I have seen love for an animal and from an animal work wonders. It can happen and it does happen and I pray for your complete recovery. Lastly, Congratulations of being our beloved Dog Of The Day.

Hi Ellie, you are a beautiful girl. Thank goodness you and your human found each other. All my dogs are rescues. some were abused, all terrified and scared when I adopted them. With lots of love and patience you will never find a better companion then a rescue. They will be forever grateful for your kindness. happy DOTD to you!

    Brave, beautiful Ellie!

Hi Ellie! Happy Dog of the Day to you, sweet baby girl, beautiful girl!!!

I was so touched by your background story, sweetheart, and so very grateful to your human for not only choosing rescue, but choosing you! You may have come to your family with a bit of emotional baggage, but thankfully your human saw past all that, saw you for the diamond in the rough that you were, and was willing to commit to doing it all might take to heal your wounded spirit!

My beloved Cody, now at the label, the Rainbow Bridge, was a Husky x Shep deemed unadoptable, languishing past her "adorable" puppy stage, at the shelter with the label of "dog unwanted." That was the banner on her rescue flyer, posted on the bulletin board at my local supermarket. I saw it and it haunted me. So, that day, I called the shelter and within hours she was home to stay! She was so fearful that first day, having been abused from puppyhood, and cowered at raised voices, the sight of men, and strangers. But with a time and a lot of love and patience, she made great progress over the years, learning to love and trust, and I have no doubt that as the years go by, your fears will grow fewer and fewer...just look how far you've already come! Just like me and my Cody, you and your person were destined to be together, and it does my heart good knowing that one beautiful, most deserving doggie was given a second chance at happiness!

Thanks to your wonderful human for sharing your beautiful self and uplifting story with us, Ellie! I hope you're enjoying your well earned day of honor, being spoiled rotten!
Lots of love, hugs and kisses to you, beautiful Ellie!!!

Hello Ellie, it's a pleasure to meet such a lovely girl as you. I'm sorry you had a rough start in life and were abused. I am so glad you were adopted and can tell that your human loves you very much and vice versa I'm sure. I really like that second photo; it seems that all four legs are off the ground . I hope you all have many years together. My Annie was a stray (abused I think) who adopted us; she too was scared at first but after years with us she is a sweet trusting girl. I am so glad you all are together and that you gave Ellie a chance for happiness and a good home. Congrats on being DOTD Ellie!

    Beautiful Girl...

    Oh Sweet Girl.

You are sooooooo loved. All it took was understanding and the WANT to make things work.

You have given so much back.
