She is resting as comfortably as possible at Laurel Pet Hospital, where she is being stabilized so can undergo surgery to amputate one of her hind legs. She appears to have been attacked by another animal, and the injuries are so severe that one leg needs to be removed. The vets think she can make a full recovery at this point, but the leg was so infected that it had already begun atrophying. The wounds were infested with maggots, so it was not very recent, and extended to both back legs and her abdomen, with infection spreading throughout that area.

Who knows how long the poor thing was wandering the streets before she crawled in front of the right people!

We are desperately trying to raise the funds needed to cover her surgery and all the rest of her medical treatment. The estimates for her vet care stand at $4000. We may know by Thursday if the infection has been brought under control enough for her to undergo surgery.

Donations can be made by ChipIn: http://nelia.chipin.com/claudia-inju...ollywood-kitty
Or by Paypal to [email protected]
Or directly to Laurel Pet Hospital: 323-654-7060 (just tell them it's for Claudia)

Any help is deeply appreciated!

Subject: W. Hollywood-Donations Needed for Injured Cat!

EMERGENCY! W. HOLLYWOOD, CA.

ONE OF OUR VOLUNTEERS FOUND THIS CAT NEAR HER HOME IN W. HOLLYWOOD-SHE IS SERIOUSLY INJURED, LOOKS LIKE ATTACKED BY SOMETHING. ONE BACK LEG WAS SO INJURED, THERE WERE MAGGOTS INFESTING THE INJURY.

SHE WAS RUSHED TO LAUREL PET HOSPITAL, WHERE THEY ARE TRYING TO STABILIZE HER. DESPITE HER INJURED, WEAK STATE, SHE IS VERY SWEET!

So far, she has gotten a blood transfusion, antibiotics, fluids, x-rays, and are running blood work. One leg will need to be amputated, and she will need to be hospitalized for an extended time while she recovers.

We do not have the money to cover this, but we could not let the cat die on the street. Please help us to be able to continue her treatment!

Please donate if you can, by Paypal to [email protected]!

Thank you, and please send this far and wide!
