    From the Haiku thread:

    Bright sun on old snow
    Brilliantly cold, sharp enough
    To cut exposed skin
It was down to just 1°F last night (which is -17 in Celcius), and going lower tonight, everything that "looks" like fluffy snow is frozen solid and crunchy underfoot! But there are rumors of it being maybe above freezing tomorrow afternoon ... maybe ...

Hi Ellie! When, and if, this crazy weather breaks I'd love to make some plans. The latest weather report says it's 12 degrees here now, they're predicting 8" to 12" by the time the snow stops late Monday afternoon, and more snow on Thursday but the weatherguys aren't saying how much. The way the snow keeps on coming, maybe we should start training for the Itidarod.

Honestly here & when we get these kinds of temps in the Yukon, life just goes on as normal. A cold snap in either place can last weeks! Less outdoor activities, but my nieces caught the bus to school yesterday;my brother-in-law went to work(he works in the oil patch so outside!). I took the little girls to the swimming pool & out for lunch, met my oldest niece for a drink last night! It's -40 today & I'm helping one of my nieces move! I did have to borrow a gas truck, cuz my Dad's diesel truck was struggling to keep running! The diesel gels up in this kind of cold!

Absolutely - we'll get together in more predictable weather - and after my back surgery on 3/24 - then 6-8 weeks "mending". Late May or early June is usually nice weather in our neck of the woods - before I have to hibernate in the house with the a.c. on.

And that 1-3 inches of snow we were supposed to get here Sunday night/Monday, has now been updated to 6-10. Wonder what they'll be saying tomorrow - 10-15????? Don't ya just love these weather forecasters???? - every one says something different. We'll see how much snow we get, when it actually falls.

ETA: Didn't I tell you, Eileen??? The 6 o'clock news on Channel 6/Phila, is now saying 10-14 for south Jersey and all of DE. Seriously - I doubt we'll get anywhere near that amount..................

Same here, Karen. We were promised 8" to 12" but barely got a dusting. What a let down!!!!! Right now it's 19 degrees and for some reason NJ is under a state of emergency.

As I write this, it is MINUS 6.2°F. 24 hours ago, it was just zero.

Yup - I called that shot again. I said our predicted 10-14 wouldn't happen, and we got about 4 or 5 at best. The roads were still solid ice under that tho, since it had rained and then froze before it started snowing. Kids finally went back to school today. As many weather related days that this district has closed schools for, these poor kids will be making up days clear into July!

Pretty good. It was in the 20s F and sunny today. It's supposed to be in the mid 30s tomorrow but possibility of rain or freezing rain.

It is a heat wave here, 34 degrees & cloudy. Rain & sleet are on the way though. Will have to put my ice skates on to get around to do the chores this evening.
The frost is on the pumpkin & I've been BOO'D by two pet talk ghosts.

Our glacier...er...snow pack is 5 weeks and counting. I don't remember a snow pack lasting this long. It's basically morphed into two distinct strata since we had ice after two snow storms. Temp wise: about 40 F today, reaching 50 by the weekend.

54 degrees F and sunny today in Indy. Played in the yard with the pups today. Yesterday was nice too. I'm liking this.

It's 45F today and the sun is out, but it's supposed to rain and/or snow overnight. I'm glad the weather is better!

Yes, above freezing — 35°F now here! And even warmer, maybe 45° tomorrow is predicted.
