Two nights ago our furnace was struggling...there was a small clog in the heat exchanger. Got it fixed just in time for 5 deg F/"I don't want to know" below 0 wind chill.

It actually didn't feel all that bad here this afternoon. The wind died down and the sun was bright, and it felt warmer than it did yesterday - even tho the thermometer said it was colder. It's 16F right now with a wind chill of 7F.

It was 8 degrees this morning at 7am & got to a high of 24 this afternoon with a breeze too. Tonight and tomorrow are to be cold but not as bad as last night and today. I tell you we did not waste any time with the little dogs outside... did our business quickly and back inside.

It was warmer today, and we had some nice snow. Yes, for those who live in more southern climes, there is such a thing as "too cold to snow." It's back down to 11°F /-12°C but at least it is a positive number!

Today is a balmy 22°F! Every trace of yesterday's birdseed was gone she I put more out today, no wondering why that was!

Still, I am hoping it stays cold enough that Monday's anticipated storm is snow, not sleet or ice. I would much much rather shovel snow than push slush! and would rather deal with slush than ice!

17F (-8C) tonight but not nearly as windy as the last couple of days. We are supposed to reach 30F on Friday and Saturday, though.

6°F /-14°C - good night for hot tea for sure! We had rain on Sunday, so now the back yard is all ice wherever puddles formed. Frozen ground does not absorb much water!

32 F tonight of 0C. This is much warmer than the past week, although the rain makes it feel freezing.

It's above freezing! Time to go to the car wash! 35F (2C) and partly sunny, how nice to get a break from the very cold weather for a few days.

28°F -2°C and snowy here, not a lot, but enough snow and ice to cover everything. Tomorrow it is predicted to get above freezing - by 1 whole degree! Ha!
