Oooh, love dim sum! Can I have some of those shrimp dumplings, and the little veggies stuffed pocket ones, and - oh, heck, bring it all on! Except the duck feet, I always turn away when that cart is passing by!

I have had duck feet before.....

It's a pain in the summer, I just keep my shoes on and no one every knows....

I love the difference between the dough and the contrast to the fillings.

I have to laugh - when you mentioned the cart passing?

I had the image in my mind of Mario running thru the bar, cart bumping into the tables and everyone laughing.

    DONE!

    Gini,

Hot sake tastes like hot rubbing alcohol, I know what you mean.

Let's see, we have Kirin and Sapporo?

    Name yer poison!

    DONE!

I was at a family gathering today - niece's high school graduation, and my sister had made a rhubarb pie! Now I want more! Dang, should have snagged some to take with me!

I also was able to eat some really good corn on the cob - for the first time in years. I don't miss that trouble-making gall bladder one bit!

So, corn anyone? It's really good sweet corn, fresh and easy - dunno where Russo's got it from (it just said USA) but it was great!

Desperate times call for .............How did I know there is a difference between alcohol and isopropyl alcohol?

(I used to use alcohol to clean my face.......it was a mistake to use it so close to my mouth.)

    One Kirin!

    Done.

    -----------------

    Karen,

One of my faves this time of year is zucchini, corn, tomatoes wrapped in foil and cooked over a BBQ fire.

Lemon pepper (or a squeeze from a real lemon) and a shake of parmesan cheese makes me happy.

    More corn?

    DONE!

By the way - hey, Lady's Human, Dad wants to know if your rhubarb is growing this well ....

And yes, folks, that was picked before the last 2 days of rain!

Posting this does not make me want rhubarb pie any less!

However, I am now enjoying some yummy strawberry tea, anyone want to share?

No, it was a BAD winter for rhubarb out here. THe weather was so crazy I'm surprised it survived. I'm going to mulch it in with horse manure this fall, so it should do better.

I'll pass on the tea and take some rhubarb, please. I haven't had any in years, and I usually get it from an Amish farm near here. I don't think I've ever seen any stalks that big!

Yes, even Dad is surprised at the size of it this year! Maybe 3 stalks and you've got enough for a whole pie! Gotta call my sister for the pie recipe, and then raid the church garden, where they foolishly through they plowed over the rhubarb, and it came up fine regardless!

    Do tell, Maggie!

My deceased FIL was an Army lifer and spent several tours of duty in the Orient. He developed a taste for sake, as well as live-in Geisha girls - his housekeepers as he would tell it to his wife and kids back in the States. He always brought home a supply of sake, and insist everyone at least have a taste. I did - and YUK!!!
