    April showers Thursday 479!

Dang, I am losing track of my days here.

It's the last day of April and we are in for a few showers this afternoon.

One thing that I really do appreciate about living in the East is the weather.

The saying, "If you do not like the weather, wait a few minutes." Is so apt, it's not even funny.

A few days ago there was a nice hail storm with T and L!

Yes, I am totally enamored of the fact that there actually is WEATHER other than sun and 80 degree weather all year long!

I am going to brew a coffee and sit on the porch.......

    anyone?

Summer started here today, so a G & T is in order.

Richard, is it humid where you are, or is that only further south? Have to admit, I love CA weather, but perhaps not all year.

You shoud have been here last night Richard. It was a real toad strangler. Rained and stormed so hard all night, I couldn't even see the end of the porch. Glad you are enjoying the seasons. Wait until the fall colors come.

I'd like a cherry rootbeer please.

So glad you're enjoying the east coast weather Richard. I would love some coffee and a sit on the porch to watch the weather show.

I can't wait until summer really gets here and we can sit and watch the fireflies. We already have our soundtrack with the frogs in the pond.

    Done.

The house is next to a park. It's an up and down walk. My mission is to build up enough stamina to make it there on my own!

Last year the cicadas were in full roar, the evenings are filled with toad and frog song.

I think Doris thinks that I am a total idiot, I run from the windows to say, LOOK, LOOK at the (Put the nature phenomenon or your choice here)!!

She kind rolls her eyes and probably thinks, "I know what goes on here....I grew up in the state/area."

    Randi,

    One G&T!

    DONE!

I thought I would miss CA a great deal more than I do. Here, it's magic to me. There are things to see every day, Things to hear, things that make me wonder.

    MOFF,

I think some toads did meet their maker here in KY last night.

The rain was so hard, it looked like the roof of the garage had a grey cover about 8 inches thick on it, that is how hard the rain bounced off the shingles.
I have to say that I will never, ever get tired of thunder or lightning.
I guess it's the idea a loud noises and things getting blown up?

    One CRB?

    Done!

    LoH,
We have had temp swings of 40 degrees in the last few weeks.

I do have to say that you cannot base your choice of wardrobe the night before.

    Cue the soundtrack!

    Done!

    LH,

    Whoopie pie?

Sounds like an adult honeymoon treat!

Richard- Whoopie pie is a very yummy cakey sandwich treat made usually some kind of chocolate cake and a filling, some use a cake frosting for the filling, others use a filling with marshmallow. My grandmother made them with milk, flour, crisco, butter and sugar and a very rich chocolate cake (reminds me of German chocolate cake but not quite) I will gladly send you the recipe if you would like.

LH saw the recipe that I posted with the marshmallow filling and said, "That's not a whoopie pie that's a moon pie." I, of course, told him he was preaching to the choir, so when I get home from all my running around tonight I am going to actually make the whoopie pies, before LH beats me, and also post the recipe my grandmother used so if any of you are so inclined you may use it and enjoy.

Whoopie pie and a coffee? DONE!

THe light show is area dependent, we've got a heck of a light show going on outside right now, thunderstorms are rolling across upstate NY.
