Cat Haiku

I am cat; the muse
I inspire thee to write, then
Swat your pen away

Think you can foil me?
You turn to the computer,
I attack the mouse!

Think you can ignore?
I will help you type, flick my
Tail across your face

I am cat; the muse
But muses can be fickle
I am cat; love ME!

as a muse we have
mused and amused mankind for
quite a long long time

[RICHARD]

nighttime commando
where does your patrol take you
when you leave the bed?

do you protect your
food?, your water? your toys? or
maybe dad, who sleeps?
-------
a taste of food -small
crunching noises in the dark
the sound of water
-------
water being drunk,
making sure no night goblins
have been partaking
-------
a peek thru the shades
at the world gone dark then a
look thru the front door
-------
private Katz reports
back to the snoring lump that
dreams under blankets
-------
back onto the bed
"remain sleeping dad, every
thing is safe and sound"

filou, you are right
salmon is the best food in
the world for us cats

i had a special
piece of fish cooked just for me-
fresh off of the grill!
-------
while dad cleaned dishes
i gave myself a nice bath
and went right to sleep.

if my dad decides
to have me cloned would that make
me a copy cat?

my dad talks to me
news sports and science but he
really likes physics

dont apply to me!

to stay at rest until i
decide i should move

My brother's theory of cat gravity, as developed with the help of Pippin, Lucas and Trillian:

Cats control gravi-
ty, that's why the light lap-cat
Gets so hard to move

Cats get heavier
With sleep - a 9-pounder can
Weigh 50 mid-nap

This is why three cats
On one large human can weigh
Too much to move off

Cat gravity can
Account for more late days than
Power outages.

the science of cats
cannot be explained-logic
goes out the window

the cat nap goes on

is another mystery
to all cat owners

the vertebra in
a cat's spine softens as you
try to pick them up

should i twist my neck
like my cat does while i sleep
i'd need some aspirin

californian salmon is

mom loves grilled salmon
in vivolo's chowderhouse
in pacific grove

i had some irish
salmon these days and caviar
i must admit though

more time more heat that
is the law now remember
your cat on your lap

more time more chaos
that is the law now think of
cat toys in your room

more time leads to more
uniformity like the
fur layer in bed

cats follow- chaos!

explain the thermal output
of a sleeping cat?
