    Prayers, please...

About a month ago, my grandmother was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre Syndrome (http://www.medicinenet.com/guillain-...me/article.htm). She was hospitalized, and for a while, she seemed to be getting better.

Today, we were told that she will never fully recover. She might regain some mobility, but she will essentially be a quadriplegic for the rest of her life.
...I'm generally not very religious, but I could really use some good vibes right now...

Prayers and healing energies for your grandmother and for you and all who love her too.

Many prayers that the docs are mistaken and your grandmother will surprise everyone.

Are there any GB support groups in your area?

    There are Yahoo groups: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group...barresyndrome/

Check them out. They're free to join.

I'm sorry to hear this. A friend of mine also has this horrible disease. She went into remission for a while but now she can't stand for very long and she's lost the feeling in her part of her legs. She was told that there's no cure for it. She got it as a result of having the flu. Lots of prayers and positive thoughts are being sent her way.

How sad! And, just an FYI, you don't have to be religious to be prayed for or to pray. Faith and religion are two different things! I'm sending prayers your way!
