It was 6 years ago, when we went over to the Friends for Life animal shelter in Gilbert, AZ and looked for a kitty. My hubby wanted a kitty who would love him the way my now RB-Scooter Bug loved me. Charlie, who was named Calvin at the shelter, loved all over him and won his heart and came home with us that very day. Unfortunately, Charlie is actually terrified of my hubby but loves me. So I ended up with a pair of super-lovey kitties. I think it's because Charlie was a feral in the desert, scrounging for food for awhile before the shelter trapped him, and my hubby is 6'4". When hubby is sitting down, Charlie will let hubby pet him.

His favorite thing in the entire world is the laser pointer keychain toy. If you even hover your hand over it, he can sense it, and comes running. It's scary how in-tune he is with it! He will climb/jump halfway up the wall trying to get that little dot. It's great fun for us and great exercise for him.
They said he was about 2 1/2 when we got him, so he is 8 1/2 now. I hope he is around for a very long time. He's a really sweet kitty, and every time I lay down, he's right there, either curled up in the crook of my arm or on my head. I just wish he'd stop licking my arm when I try to sleep. It's weird... lol.
