Falling in love is like ...

My dear friends Michael and Amanda, proud parents of Fritz, got married today, and they had four readings one of which was this poem,
"Falling in love is like owning a dog" which I though all you pet owners would also enjoy, not just dog folks!

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
    I miss you

I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

Fur as dark as the night.
    Join me on this flight.
Paws of love that follow me.
In my heart you'll forever be.

How I wish I could hold you near.
Turn back time to make it so.
Hug you close and never let go.

My big love is my dogs. I could never get the other "love" trained, so he had to be rehomed!

Seriously tho - a very nice poem, and a lot of thought went into it. And congrats to the newlyweds too.

The nicest part is I contacted the author, and he offered to send me an autographed copy of the poem to give them, isn't that nice?

I got the autographed copy of the poem, and he even asked me to email him with what my friends' reaction was. Isn't that nice of him?

You KNOW he is a dog person, that's for sure!
