    Items just arrived

I won these Soviet items on eBay about 3 weeks ago. They've just arrived from Russia.
The medals are mostly of the commemorative kind, decade anniversaries since the end of WW2, or as the Ruskies call it "The Great Patriotic War".
The badge looking thingy on the top left is a silver "Soviet Order of the Patriotic War"
The smaller medals down the bottom are emulation awards given to workers for "hard work".

This little fella is a KGB medal.

Pretty cool Wom. I was at a mercato (market) 'Europa in Piazza' yesterday in the center of Vicenza. There was 1 stand which was Russian with a load of stuff like medals, weapons & even uniforms from years ago. Some of the stuff was super cool and going for very good prices. It was the busiest stand there.

We called it the Cold War back in the 50's & 60's. I just remember Nikita Khrushchev saying they were going to bury us. A scary time for us kids growing up. The KGB were the bad guys.

    Neat medals for sure Wom.

Lucky girl. We here can only watch from afar at these markets.
Since the Soviet Union collapsed, there's heaps of stuff in Europe. We here have to rely on resellers. But still, I hunt for bargains and usually get them
