    Cassie's training (with pictures)

Today was the third consecutive day of Cassie's leash training. It was raining for about a week after the storm, so it was impossible to train her very well.

I now go to my old elementary school to train her! It has a big field, and I go when there are no kids, few cars, and so much less distraction than my dog-heavy neighborhood. We train for 30 minutes, which is about how long her attention span is.

I bring cut up, tiny bits of steak and hot dog to motivate her, since (picky girl) dog treats don't always work, though Meat always does.

I run her around the field a few times to get her calmer, as the first day I came she was very anxious. Now she is getting used to it! I even got her to play a little during a break, which she would never normally do in public.

She is responding so well to the training, and I am so proud of my Cass!

Good girl. Somewhere as exciting as a field may call for higher value training treats. :-D We use dog kibble as treats in house, but when going outside, mine get anything from peanut butter in a food tube, wet dog food in a food tube, string cheese, dehydrated meat, sandwich meat, boiled chicken, etc. etc. Lol

Her coloring is so pretty and I love that smile. Glad she's doing well.

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
    I miss you

I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

Fur as dark as the night.
    Join me on this flight.
Paws of love that follow me.
In my heart you'll forever be.

How I wish I could hold you near.
Turn back time to make it so.
Hug you close and never let go.
