    Tama's Kidneys :(

Could use some good thoughts for Tama- he's staying at the vets. It's his kidneys.

He's lost 2 lbs. in the past 2 months, he stopped eating all together. His bloodwork looks bad.

He's getting IV and fluids and they will try to get his levels back to a reasonable amount. If they can do that, then we would just be able to keep him comfortable with fluids, which I have no problem giving to him.

If they find that the kidney damage is too far gone, then, well....we will cross that road when we get to it

Michelle, we're praying that Tama will remain comfortable while you await making a decision. Hopefully, you'll be able to give subQ's and extend his life indefinitely. Keep the faythe. (((HUGS)))
    Blessings,

I've been there, so I know it's a scary and unhappy place. Prayers for you and Tama; there's lots of treatment for the kidneys these days. Hang in there!

    Oh.My.Gosh.

It went from them telling me that he's doing so bad I will need to put him down, to getting a phone call 1/2hr ago saying he ate 3/4 can of food and ate last night and I can now take him home!!!!!!!!!

Prognosis is still guarded- they are leaving his catheter in in case he crashes this weekend. But if he's ok, then we will take him back on Monday for a checkup.

I will give him the sub-Q fluids (which I have no problems doing since I was a tech before )

He is really a fighter, this little 5 lb guy.....

That sounds like good news, what a relief!! Keeping my fingers crossed that he will respond positively to the sub-Qs, and that he will feel much better!! He must be happy to come back home!

Please keep improving, little Tama, hang in there!!
