    I'm Back! (With Photo's Too!)

I kinda dissapeared from here after things got super insanely busy with a new job that worked me crazy with insane hours, a bunch of church related project stuff, school stuff, the works. The dogs, and all the other critters, are doing good though! And things have finally settled down for a bit.

Katie, my bassett hound mix, had a huge scare yesterday, and I rushed to the emergency vet. She was sitting on the sofa with me while I was watching a movie, and she woke up from a nap, vomited, and then began to turn purple and started stumbling. She looked almost dead by the time I made it to the emergency vet. After several x-rays and bloodwork, and a barium test to look for obstructions, they found nothing. Once there though, she started looking and acting normal again. After 3 hours of observation and tests, they think that she aspirated something into her windpipe when she vomited, and it was constricting her airway. She's perfectly fine now, but my God, what a scare!

Otherwise, she and everyone else is doing fantastic, and here's some brand new pics of some of the crew!

WOW that is scary. I loved all the photos but my all time favorite is number two. I would print that off, frame it and hang it on a wall if I was you.

That's quite a family! How many??? - I lost track. Feeding time must be a real challenge. You could have your own reality show - like "18 Kids and Counting" - or is it 19 now? All of your kids are gorgeous, but I'm partial to Annie, Lily and Jake! Ear scritches and belly rubs to all!

    Thanks guys!

Yes, it was extremely scary with Katie yesterday, so glad it's over, and that she's back to normal now. Definitely don't want to go through that again!

I'm at 14 dogs now, with no plans for any new ones, LOL. I've had 3 fosters come through in the last few months, but no more permanent residents for quite a long while. Feeding time is incredibly fast and easy. Everyone is well trained, and all I need to say is "Kennel!" and everyone knows which crate is their's and they run right in and wait for their dinner. Not quietly though, the Beagles like to howl, I guess they think it'll make me go faster.

Wow. Beautiful photos. Not just quality but the models too, of course!

I gotta say, Annie is such a charming looking dog! I just love her looks. How big is she? She kinda looks like a mini Irish Wolfhound or Deerhound!

    Thanks for sharing!
