    Singing cats?!

Okay, this is a TOTALLY new one on me and would like some other cat-nutz insights.
The other moring I was sitting on my patio just a bit before dawn when a young male cat came prancing threw the courtyard.... Well, "singing" is the best description I can come up with. Not yowling, like they do when seeking a mate, but more sort of chirping. What's more there seemed to be a definite melody to the song. A mew, MEW, mew MEW, mew, mew MEW cat-diddy of some kind.
I chuckled at this a bade the young feline "Good Morrow" and he came trotting over to be pet, clearly in a good mood.
Has anyone else heard the like or have any explaination?

Well, so much for getting any input from around here. Thanks to those who had a look anyway. I guess I'll ask my vet or someone.

This is new to me! My cat will meow to me, but usually when she wants something. Occasionally when she is in one room, I'm in another, like "Where are you?" But happy, chatty meowing, not at my house. My cat isn't very vocal except when she really needs something, though.

How sweet that the kitty was vocal and came over for petting!

I've been Boo'd ... right off the stage!

Aaahh, I have been defrosted! Thank you, Bonny and Asiel!
