My 11 year old Golden Retriever has a pink growth on the back of her lip which was very tough to find. You need to lift up her top lip and its a pink fairly soft growth, with somewhat defined edges and about the size of a pencil eraser. I am not sure how long it has been there or if it has increased in size.

Anyway, a trip to the vet seemed to bring some concern, and he took a fairly deep biopsy of the growth and said he would send it to the pathologist with results tomorrow or Saturday. He did say he felt that he believed that it was an 80-20 chance we were looking at a benign situation but would surely not commt to anything.

I know mouth cancer is a big problem and at her advanced age, aggressive treatment might not be the way to go. So I'm despondeent this evening , because mouth cancer has a tendancy to spread--fast.

Now I to wait for the biopsy. A malignant situation would be a nightmare and I will never let her suffer. The vet mentioned chemo amd radiation. I doubt thats the route we'll take. But I'm still hopeful. The phone call from the vet couold be a life shanging one for me snd Princess. She is my life. I pray she doent have cancer.

Has anyone experience their dog with these type of growths in their moutn ?
If so, what was the outcome ? Thank You
