why does my dogs toes bleed in the cold?

everytime i take victor out for a walk and its a bit cold out between his 2nd and last toes start to bleed a little bit. i was thinking that possibly his nails were chafing the webbed skin. or that maybe he is very sensitive to the cold. is it normal?

Do the neighbors maybe use salt on the sidewalks? It's not normal, and salt and other chemicals can irritate the paws. I don't know what part of the country you are in, that would help! They may be getting dried out in this weather, so you might try putting booties on him and medicating his paws until spring.

As Karen said, avoid all salt, sidewalks, streets etc.

You could using Mushers Secret, too.

I would use Mushers Secret as well or get him booties as those chemicals you mention can be dangerous and burn their paws.
