    Goodbye, Civic Arena

Yesterday, the Penguins made it official, the Civic Arena (otherwise known as the Igloo) will be demolished. The arena was built in 1961 and has seen a lot of history under it's dome. It's sad to see all that history going to be at an end. Hopefully there is a group lobbying to make the site a national historic place and rebuild it to include stores and office space. I hope that happens.

I saw my first concert there, the Mamas and the Papas. Sad to see it go.
    Blessings,
    Mary
