    can dogs eat tomatoes??

i have a garden in my backyard. it's closed off from the rest of the yard, but sometimes the cherry tomato plants poke through the fence, & the tomatoes fall where the dogs can get them. they eat them all the time. we've had the garden every summer for the past 2 or 3 years, & the dogs have been fine, but i was just wondering if this was something they could eat. i know they can't eat grapes...or chocolate (obviously)...

They can and do eat them.

Too many give them diarrhea. Thy don't seem to know when to stop. Other than that, no issues.

Tomatoes actually gives the dog's fur a shine to it that no amount of brushing could do. My dogs always ate tomatoes, cucumbers , wax beans and carrots from the garden. They would just wander in and pick out what they wanted and drag it back to the yard. The cucumber leaves are dangerous so just break them off, although my dogs would always leave them some dogs might be tempted to chew them.
