    wading pools

Are they okay for dogs to keep cool in the heat? Or would their temp. go up? Does it depend on the Breed? I guess what I'm asking is it healthy...

Wading pools are perfectly fine for your dog to hang out in doing the hot weather. What kind of dog is it?

As long as you keep the water fresh, and dump it out at the end of the day, it should be fine, and maybe much appreciated! Not every dog will like it, but most will.

    I think it's a Jack Russell Terrier/Greyhound mix.

He is very cute! I hope he enjoys the water. My dog Leo loves to play in water, puddles swimming pool or hose pipe! He also likes to try getting in the bath or shower with us!

A little late, maybe, as it's coming on full Autumn now, but seconded all above. A wading pool is a great way for your dog to keep cool (and clean!) in the hot weather. But let me hit this pretty hard: it is vital that you empty and refill the pool every day. Your dog, quite naturally, is going to be drinking this water as well as splashing in it, and warm or lukewarm still water is a perfect growth medium for all kinds of nasty bacteria and protozoa that you don't want your dog ingesting. Enjoy the hot weather in good health!
