Thread: Fireworks

    Fireworks

Too hot and muggy for me to go to fireworks tonight. I stayed home at watered the flowers.
Hopefully tomorrow will be cooler and I can go then.
Hope everyone had a great time.
In the meantime one of our neighbors is putting on quite a show that I can see out of my window sitting in the AC, not bad, not bad at all.

I can see our towns fireworks from my yard. Well, at least 90% of them! Jake and I were out watching them.

If you had turned on your TV to CBS, you could have seen the fireworks from Boston - with the Boston Pops and Toby Keith. Delightful

I have a Kodak EasyShare z915 camera, and Paul reminded me it has a fireworks mode. So tonight, I took lots of pictures, especially to share with all of you. These are not the Boston fireworks, which everyone see on TV, this is one town further west, Newton. It is a wonderfully diverse group of people, and feels more small town than any other time of the year.

To big with, there's a HUGE flag they fly over the baseball field:

    As I approached:

    and got closer:

And just for fun, here's a crowd shot:

And now, just a bunch of fireworks shots:

Sitting in the ac watching fireworks sounds lovely

Those were beautiful Karen, so was that sky...WOW!
We also went to watch and it's the first time I've used my fireworks mode on my camera. Some turned out "ok", others were very pretty.
The best part of it was I had my hubby and my BFF there with me!

I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th no matter what you did

Hey, this is great, I can sit in the a/c and see the fireworks, lol!

We can see my city's fireworks display from the back yard, so we went out there and sat to watch. Just far enough away that the "boom" and "bang" doesn't scare Sugar, Lacey or Marlin. Tasha, well, she decided it was safest in my lap.

Thanks for sharing! I didn't know some cameras have such settings, lol.

Not to be a party pooper or anything, I enjoy viewing fireworks as much as the next person but last night was awful for us. The neighbors behind us and across from us were setting off fireworks, and Mikey is ABSOLUTELY terrified of the sounds. He was barking for 2 straight hours, almost hurt himself multiple times until we put him in his cage. He is still hoarse and his throat hurts. He hasn't barked all morning. It was so sad to see him so scared when he is usually fearless of most things. I don't mind fireworks displays but why people need to set off illegal fireworks in neighborhoods is beyond me.

I agree! Casey was scared to death.. I hate the fireworks people buy they are noisy and messy and dangerous.

You can move up here, where fireworks are illegal except for sparklers ...

Love your pictures from the fireworks, Karen. While looking at them, it felt like actually being there. And the pictures of the sky are awesome! Were they taken at sunset? Thanks for sharing your great shots!
